Hino Motors Manufacturing Grand Opening
September 29, 2008

Over 300 community and business leaders gathered at the Hino Motors Manufacturing Plant in Williamstown to celebrate the company's Grand Opening. In June of 2007, Hino Motor officials announced that it would bring 80 new jobs and make an $8 million investment in West Virginia. Even before it's opening, Hino announced an expansion that will add two new assembly lines, adding 30 new jobs, and producing 20 trucks a day. Today, the company employs 105 and has invested $18 million.

Senator Rockefeller was instrumental in bringing Hino Motors to West Virginia; meeting with Hino executives during a DRWV Foundation trade mission to Japan in 2001. Prior to the grand opening, Sentor Rockefeller and the DRWV Foundation hosted a dinner in honor of Hino Motors executives at the Blennerhassett Hotel in Parkersburg. Hino Motors Manufacturing U.S.A., Inc., is a Toyota-owned truck manufacturer.
