May 12, 2009DRWVF Showcases Northern Panhandle to Business Services Executives The Foundation teamed up with the Regional Economic Development Partnership (RED) of Wheeling and the West Virginia Development Office to showcase the Northern Panhandle to more than 25 national executives in the business services' sector. The reception, hosted by Governor Joe Manchin, followed a West Virginia Informational Briefing with presentations by West Virginia Department of Commerce Cabinet Secretary Kelley Goes, and Don Rigby, the Executive Director of RED, who highlighted the benefits of doing business in West Virginia. During the reception, Ralph Baxter, Chairman and CEO of Orrick, Herrington, and Sutcliffe LLP; and John Snowdon, Vice President of Off-Site Solutions of Williams Lea, two of the region's existing investors, gave a first-hand account of their company's success in the State. The event which resulted in several business leads was designed to bring companies in the business services sector to Wheeling.
