West Virginia Aerospace Mission
October 14-17, 2009

The Foundation teamed-up with the West Virginia Development Office and the Mid-Atlantic Aerospace Complex to host the West Virginia Aerospace Mission. The fourteen aerospace executives from Japan, Italy and Portugal were in the Mountain State in search of investment opportunities and business partnerships. While in Washington, DC, delegation members met with Senator Rockefeller, as well as prominent government officials from the FAA, NASA, and the NTSB, and private aviation industry executives.

While in the State, participants visited the Mid-Atlantic Aerospace Complex and met with representatives from Bombardier, Aurora Flight Sciences, Lockheed Martin, FMW Composite Systems, Inc. and the Robert C. Byrd Institute for Advanced Flexible Manufacturing. The mission concluded with a tour of Pratt Whitney Engine Services, Inc., and the North Central West Virginia Airport. While at the MAAC, Governor Manchin hosted a luncheon in honor of the delegation.
